SHO

I thought it would be some relaxing course like back in my university life with no daily classes and just two or three hours class per day. But it turned out the other way round; class from 8.30 a.m until 4.30 p.m everyday expect weekends. Good thing is that I only need to concentrate on one module, Safety and Health.

It is a very interesting and entertaining course where we got to know how to observe hazards and implement safety precautions in working places, theoretically. A site inspection at Sabah Industrial Dairies (SID) organized by Sabah Skills Technology Centre(SSTC) this week was amazing although our group got dissuaded by SID's officer when he told us to "filter" our comments on their company's working skills and what-so-ever which I think might get him scolded by his manager. At least we all were happy like school kids when we got free milk to bring home.

The most interesting part is we get to see pictures of gross accidents at work places. We were given a number of books as our references and one of them talks about act and regulations. It should be a good book to read, although I am not a big fan of law related stuff, I have no choice but to at least know things inside it.

Oh, and we were given free backpack from National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), a company that is responsible to give us lectures throughout the course. So we all are wearing the same bag to class, just like kindergarten kids. How cute is that? =]
