BOMBA

"Sigh. It's another boring site visit." said my thought as we arranged our steps to the rented bus. It was around 8.45 a.m and I could see people were busy wondering around the building. A group of people just about to enter the building's main door, probably chattering about things that happened last night while some with their starving face heading to the cafe.It was a lovely day for me because we did not have to put on our usual formal. It is always my favorite to have the days when we get to put on our casual wear, which I have plenty of them compare to formals.

The bus turned its wheels, heading to where it should go.I had fun riding on a bus compare to the trains in peninsula, though it was a pretty bumpy ride. Roads here are not as good as in the west. Who to blame? I do not think I have the answer in my dictionary yet.

And so we finally arrived, and it changed my whole idea of that day's site visit.

This is where they receive emergency calls from all over K.K.

These are for big and selected companies in K.K region. Or in other words, they have their own line connected to the office.

Just a basic idea for you of the equipments inside the fire engine. We were told the content inside are the same or could be more depending on the size of the truck.

Each of these weighed around 33 lbs (15 kg) and firefighters have to carry two of these while on duty.

And they have almost all the equipments to save lives. They might be small, but they are powerful.

Don't play-play. See what engine they are driving. I forgot how fast this particular truck can go, but for sure it runs faster than our local cars. Haha.

Fully equipped! And those things were heavy.

Believe it or not, these guys are still using this vintage machine for documentation purpose. Classic huh?

I believe you all have seen this around. You need to be competent enough to ride one of those.

These beasts are also fully equipped with fire fighting and rescue accessories. One of the equipment that impressed me was the water pump which has the power up to 7 bars pressure to pump water. Just to give you the idea, 1 bar = 6.90846 atm. You do the math.

And that day I was totally blown away. I never thought it would be so cool to be a firefighter.

Anyway, for all of you, BOMBA means "Badan Operasi Mencegah Bencana Alam". I just knew it that day.
